Even though BeamNG.drive is still in early access, you can already see the huge potential of the game. If you approach it with the right mindset, you can easily spend hours playing. There is always something to do, whether it’s tweaking small details on your car, adding a turbocharger, or setting up your own police chase. The possibilities feel almost endless. After the early version of the campaign was released, it also became clearer where the developers want to take the game in the future.
One great thing about BeamNG.drive is that the developers fully support mods. This allows talented modders to add their own vehicles, maps, and other content. Because of this, the game keeps growing and always feels fresh.
Visually, the game looks decent on normal settings, but it can be difficult to run on lower or mid-range PCs. However, if you have a strong computer and turn up the graphics settings, the game can look very impressive.
BeamNG.drive is also quite unique. It’s not just a racing game. Instead, it focuses on everything a car enthusiast might enjoy. You can swap engines, change turbos, adjust suspension, and fine-tune many other parts of a vehicle.
One of my favorite additions in recent updates is the drag strip. After a race you receive a timing slip, and then you can go back to the garage to tune your car and try again. This loop of racing, tuning, and improving your time feels very satisfying.
Another strong point of the game is the development and support team. They are active in the community, often help players, and really listen to feedback.
Overall, BeamNG.drive is a very promising and unique car game. It may still be in early access and demanding for some PCs, but the depth of the vehicle systems and the passion of the developers make it a game that truly deserves to succeed.
