RV There Yet? has an easy-to-understand premise: you find an abandoned RV, grab some beers and food, and learn that your only goal is to make it to the end of the road. Sounds simple and can't go well for too long.
The game shines through its neat little mechanics. You can smoke a cigarette for a small speed boost, patch up your battered RV with tools, and manage supplies while everything around you slowly falls apart. It’s these small interactive details that make it feel like the developers really though about the game and had fun during development.
The physics are intentionally goofy and sometimes unpredictable, which adds to the fun rather than taking away from it. Half the enjoyment comes from not knowing whether you’ll smoothly clear a hill or completely flip the RV.
The food system is surprisingly entertaining too! Grilling burgers inside the RV or chugging a can of nuggets adds to the silly style.
The “enemies” feel balanced. Snakes are annoying early on but easy to avoid once you learn their patterns, and bears are manageable if you’re prepared with bear spray.
Some of the best moments come from co-op watching my friend barely pass an obstacle while I desperately guide them. Or watching the RV plummet of the cliff, which was equally fun. The checkpoint system is well thought through and felt balanced.
